Some elements of the RTI model (e.g., a problem-solving process to solve practical dilemmas; an intervention hierarchy or teaching pyramid to address children’s social-emotional development) already exist in the early childhood field. Learn how RTI at the pre-K level builds on these elements to address the needs of young children who show signs that they may not be learning in an expected manner.

Specific, Measurable Outcome

The statement of a single, specific desired result from an intervention. To be measurable, the outcome should be expressed in observable and quantifiable terms (i.e., Johnny will demonstrate mastery of grade-level basic math calculation skills as measured by a score of 85% or better on the end of the unit test on numerical operations).
