Lauren Campsen Lauren Campsen is currently the principal of Ocean View Elementary School in Norfolk, Va. Using a combination of data-driven decision making and Response to Intervention, Ms. Campsen led her school from low performing and unaccredited to recognition as a 2008 National No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School and a 2009, 2010, and 2011 Virginia Distinguished Title I School. She was named a National Terrell Bell Principal in 2008 for her work in transforming her school with her focus on increasing student learning and closing achievement gaps.
Ms. Campsen is a co-author of the book Data Teams: The Big Picture. She is also a contributor to two additional books, Real-Time Decisions: Educators Using Formative Assessment to Change Lives Now! and Understanding RTI In Mathematics.
Lauren Campsen shares her expertise as a national mentor for the RtI Action Network and is a contributor to the Action Network’s blog. She also regularly presents at various national education conferences including ASCD and NAESP.
