Leslie Van Kleek

Leslie Van Kleek is the Prevention Specialist for Tigard High School in Portland, Oregon. She has worked in public education (secondary level) for 14 years: two years as a special education teacher, eleven years as a learning specialist, and one year as a prevention specialist. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development from Oregon State University and a Master's Degree in Education from Lewis & Clark College. Tigard High School has been implementing RTI at for the past three years. During that time, Ms. Van Kleek has served as the co-chair of their Effective Behavioral and Instructional Supports team (their RTI team for behavior and academics), which measures and documents student progress in interventions.
